Custom Earmolds for Hearing Aid Users:
- Variety of custom fit ear pieces (earmolds) to work with Behind the Ear (BTE) and Receiver in Canal (RIC) hearing aids.
- Earmolds are very discrete and comfortable. Some cannot be noticed, as they will sit comfortably inside the ear canal.
- Hypoallergenic options are available for those with skin sensitivity.
Custom Earplugs for Noise Protection, Musicians, Sleeping:
Earplugs can be used for noise protection and water protection. Noise-induced hearing loss is preventable if you use hearing protection when exposed to loud noise.
- Musician’s earplugs come with specific filters for different levels of attenuation. (please see below)
- Sleep earplugs are very small and comfortable. They sit only in the ear canal. They are great for travelers, or those easily awakened.
- Water protection earplugs for swimmers are floatable and can be ordered in bright colors.

For musicians and music personnel
For musicians and music personnel seeking hearing protection, we offer earplugs that provide attenuation and preserve sound quality. In 2020 the American Academy of Audiology published guidelines for Audiological Services for Musicians and Music Industry Personnel. At Chicago Hearing Care, we follow clinical guidelines to ensure we provide the best services and products available at the time.
Our role is to help you choose the level attenuation needed to protect your hearing and perform your job. We do this mostly taking in consideration the amount of time and level of exposure. Once your earplugs are ready, we verify that the earplugs provide adequate attenuation.
We strongly recommend that prior to getting earplugs you undergo a thorough hearing assessment to help us establish your current hearing sensitivity or baseline. This will allow us to monitor your hearing over time and make recommendations based on any red-flags we may find.
At this time, we do not fit ear-level monitors.
